Carta da parati, painted ceramic, 56 total tiles, 46 industrially produced and 10 handmade, 278 x 333,5 x 0,5 cm, 2014

The Carta da parati work is composed of a group of painted terracotta tiles hanging on the wall one next to the other creating a geometrical representation arranged in lines and stripes, each vertical line ends at the bottom with an handmade tile that presents an upturned curl which mimics an old wallpaper coming off the wall. All others tiles are industrially made and measure 33,3 x 50 x 0,5 cm each. For  the decoration i use a roller with a pattern on  it like those used in the creation of domestic decoration and this specific pattern is made up of  vertical stripes of color , from the repetition of this gesture i obtain the typical decorative motif of the proper wallpapers.Representing this home dècore element  i recall, in an explicit way, a domestic environment related to my personal story and memories from my childhood.
